Rest

Good Afternoon to my 💓 (heartbeats), 

“God finished the work he was doing, so on the seventh day he rested from his work. God blessed the seventh day and made it a holy day. He made it special because on that day he rested from all the work he did while creating the world.”

Genesis 2:2-3 ERV 

In Exodus 16, it states that the sabbath day is on a Saturday! All throughout Exodus it emphasizes the importance of keeping this day holy by resting! At the beginning of creation, God decided that everything He created was good and on the 7th day He rested! If our Father took a day to rest and did not work then how important is it for us to rest? 

For if we do not rest then it causes us to not have the best mental clarity, which leads to us not making the best decisions! Also, it causes us to feel burn out ! Without resting we are not as creative, pleasant to be around, and empathetic! Lack of rest causes us to stress easily and become more irritable! When we do not take a day to rest it causes us to be less Christ-like! It even causes us to miss an opportunity to worship and be intimate with the Father! Let’s take a day of rest to honor, worship, love, and celebrate the Father! Father, we thank you for giving us a guide on how to live this life! We thank you for giving us an opportunity to rest and to get to know you. Thank you for your goodness! May we continue to honor you by resting and following your commands!! Please continue to give us the desire to follow your commands! Thank you for giving us this life ! We love you always Father! in Jesus name. Amen.
