Hello Darlings,
“ Ahab said toJehoshaphat, “ Will you go with me to attack Ramoth Giles? Ahab was the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat was the King of Judah. Jehoshaphat answered, “Yes, you and I will be as one- my men will be as yours in battle. But first let’s ask the Lord for advice. “ 2 Chronicles 18:3-4 ERV
Every decision that we need to make we shall always seek counsel with the Lord. In this passage, King Jehoshaphat is the righteous king but his Allie is not at all. King Ahab was seeking advice from 400 prophets who all agreed that He would be successful when attacking Ramoth. However, Jehoshaphat used his discernment and asking Ahab if He had any other counsels ! King Ahab discussed about Miciah ( prophet), whom He disliked because He spoke of Gods truth. King Ahab always chose not to listen to this prophet because he never said what he wanted to hear. In other words, king Ahab was idolizing himself and becoming his own God. Miciah tells him that he will not win the war if he attacks and God allowed the enemy to manipulate those 400 prophets! King Ahab did not listen to God and attacked Ramoth anyway. He was murdered for his stubbornness and pride. This passage has many different lessons! The first lesson is that we shall always seek confirmation from the Lord in every decision ! For He is the creator who created wisdom so why not seek wisdom from the wisest of them all? The second lesson is that we shall use discernment to see if the voices that we are receiving are from God or if they are from the enemy.
We can do this by asking God to increase our discernment, continue to understand his word( voice). If their voices are not aligning with His word then it is most likely a false prophet. The next lesson is to be obedient to God. If God is speaking to you then listen to what He is saying. He will never lead you astray. For God never leaves the righteous forsaken. The last lesson is that sometimes God tells us to do or things that we wish to not do. He may even say things that we do not wish to hear. However, we shall trust in the Lord since He loves us ! For our Father knows what is best for us! He is a good good father! It will always work together for our good since He is good! 😊 Father, we ask that you change our desires to align more with your desires. We want your will to be done! Father, train us to seek you first for wise counsel. Please allow the word to be hidden in our hearts so that we may not sin against you. Allow the word to be so ingrained in us that we know whether it is a false prophet speaking to us or if it is your voice! Please continue to give us your wisdom, abba! We thank you for always taking the time to guide us. We thank you for your unchanging hands. In Jesus name. Amen. 🙏🏽
